Meditation for Stage Fright

Sweaty palms, sweaty armpits, shortness of breath, racing heart.. these are all anxiety attack symptoms that comes with stage fright. Performance anxiety is natural, and it happens to the best of us. But that doesn't make it any easier and it often hinders our performance.

Meditation is one of the best remedies for stage fright.

Stage fright begins with "what ifs" and other worrisome thoughts that run through our head. When we meditate regularly, we get really good at seeing the worrisome thoughts for what they are: thoughts. That's all.

Our catastrophizing is not reality. It's all happening in our highly imaginative minds.

Through guided meditation for anxiety, we can train our minds to witness these thoughts, and then let them go before they get the best of us.

Try meditating every morning (or whenever works for you) for 5 minutes, then 10 minutes, then 15 minutes. And as you practice meditation, you'll start releasing expectations.

Don't be hard on yourself if the meditation practice proves difficult. Give yourself a a pat on the back for beginning a meditation practice to help put your stage fright into perspective.
